February 04, 2013: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on February 3, 2013:
At 2:58 A.M., Green County Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W8500 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan. The driver fled before Deputies arrived. The driver was later identified as Daniel P. Lincicum, age 26, of Juda. Preliminary investigation revealed Lincicum was eastbound on STH 81 when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway and entered the south ditch. Lincicum's vehicle struck a guy wire and a fence before coming to a rest. The vehicle sustained moderate damage with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. Scenic River Electric responded to repair the guy wire and the owner of the fence was notified of the damages. The investigation into the crash continues and citations are pending.
Operate Under the Influence:
At 3:23 A.M., the Rock County Sheriff’s Department reported a vehicle in the west ditch in the N2400 block of CTH T, Town of Spring Grove. Green County Deputies responded and the driver, Sara K. Persman, age 28, of Brodhead, was arrested for 1st Offense Operating While Under the Influence. She was also cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration. She was released to a responsible party pending court. The vehicle sustained no damage.
At 9:47 A.M., Deputies responded to CTH N, just north of Indergand Lane, Town of Monroe, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Glen R. Polnow, age 53, of rural Monroe, was northbound on CTH N and lost control on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle left the east side of the roadway and traveled down an embankment. The vehicle came to a rest against a bush and a utility pole. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Polnow was wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. Polnow sustained an injury as a result of the crash, but refused medical treatment on scene.
At 6:07 P.M., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W5300 block of Town Center Road, Town of Clarno. Investigation revealed Shondra M. Ladwig, age 17, of Juda, was eastbound on Town Center Road, observed a stop ahead sign and applied the brakes. Ladwig began to lose control due to the snow/ice-covered roadway. Ladwig’s vehicle entered the north shoulder and struck a mailbox. The collision caused moderate damage to Ladwig's vehicle without deploying the airbags. Ladwig reported seatbelt use and no injuries. The vehicle was driven from the scene. The mailbox sustained very minor damage.
Deputies responded to three separate reports of vehicles in the ditch throughout the Green County area. In each instance, there was no property damage or injuries and the vehicles were removed from the scene.
