February 12, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incident occurred on February 11, 2013:

MV Crash:

At 7:02 a.m., Deputies, Belleville EMS and Fire Dept. responded to a motor vehicle crash in the N9400 block of CTH CC in Exeter Township. Jared Flaherty Shelerud, 29, Monticello, was northbound on CTH CC and lost control on the ice-covered roadway.  His vehicle left on the east side of the road and overturned, coming to a stop on its driver’s side.  Both Jared and his passenger were wearing seatbelts, no injury reported and there was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

 

MV Crash:

At 7:55 a.m., Deputies responded to the Juda School parking lot for a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus and a parked motor vehicle. The incident occurred in the circle drive on school property.  Bobby L. Wunschel, 72, Juda, was operating a bus when the right rear of the bus struck the left front of a parked motor vehicle.  There was no damage to the bus and moderate damage to the parked vehicle owned by Amy S. Krass, 33, Juda.  No reported injury and no airbag deployment.

 

MV Crash:

At 8:55 a.m., Deputies and Monroe PD responded to the W5800 block of STH 11/81 eastbound to a two-vehicle crash.  Shirley A. Boelk, 52, Monticello, had entered the highway, using the ramp from STH 69 south to STH 11/81 east, when a second unit operated by Owen L. Nally, 28, Monroe, also operating eastbound lost control and struck the passenger's side of Boelk’s motor vehicle.  Boelk’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and Nally’s vehicle sustained minor driver's side damage.  Both vehicles were driven from the scene.  There was no airbag deployment, no injury and all parties were wearing seat belts.

 

MV Crash:

At 9:05 a.m., Deputies responded to STH 92, near Dayton Street, Brooklyn for a motor vehicle crash.  Bret W. Austin, 46, Edgerton, stated he was attempting to negotiate a curve and slid on some ice into a power pole and telephone junction box.  Austin was wearing a seat belt and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front and the undercarriage.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

Traffic Arrest:

At 4:45 p.m., Deputies cited David A. Scofield Jr., 24, of Brodhead, for Operating with a Suspended Driver’s License on 1st Center Avenue, at 5th Street, in the City of Brodhead.  Scofield was released pending court.

 

Traffic Arrest:

At 10:04 p.m., Deputies cited Kennedy J. Dammen, 19, Monroe, for Operating with a Suspended Driver’s License on 8th Street, at 6th Avenue West, in the City of Monroe.  Dammen was released pending court.
