The following incidents occurred on February 25, 2013:
At 11:05 a.m., Randall S. Zuber, 34, of Monticello, was arrested on the Green County Justice Center on a Department of Corrections Probation warrant. Zuber was incarcerated.
At 12:40 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident that occurred on STH 81, east of CTH N, Monroe Township. Investigation revealed that a pickup truck, driven by Harry P. Smith, 70, of Freeport, IL, was traveling east on STH 81 when a car, driven by Cody W. Pivonka, 17, of Argyle, WI, attempted to pass Smith's truck on the left in a passing lane. As Pivonka was attempting to pass, he attempted to shift into a lower gear and shifted into the wrong gear, causing him to lose control of the car which swerved right and collided with Smith's pickup. Smith and his passenger; identified as Lucille H. Hill, 72, of Argyle, both reported having injuries and both refused medical treatment at the scene. Both Smith and Hill were wearing seat belts and no air bags were deployed in Smith's pickup. Smith's pickup sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Pivonka was not injured in the accident and he was wearing a seat belt. No air bags were deployed in the car he was driving. The car Pivonka was driving sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
At 2:22 p.m., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on CTH T, near W. Douglas Road, Township of Spring Grove. Trevor S. Shoemaker, 21, Brodhead, was southbound on CTH T when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle collided with a guard rail, crossed back over to the roadway, entered the ditch, coming to a stop in a creek. Shoemaker was transported to an area hospital for injuries. The motor vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from scene. The crash remains under investigation.
At 7:02 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5700 block of CTH H, New Glarus Township, for a motor vehicle crash. Paul A. Eichelkraut, 46, of Monticello, was traveling east on CTH H, when a deer entered the roadway. Eichelkraut was not able to avoid striking the deer. Eichelkraut advised he was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front driver’s side damage and was driven from the scene by Eichelkraut.
At 9:07 a.m., Peter J. Landry, 49, of Brooklyn, was eastbound on Alpine Road, west of Glenway Road (Brooklyn Township), when he struck a deer. Landry was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt. The air bags did not deploy in his vehicle. Landry had moderate damage to his vehicle, which was driven from the scene.
