March 18, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on March 17, 2013: 

Operating Under the Influence:
At 2:15 A.M., Deputies were advised of a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of Sir Buk’s Dance Club, W5222 CTH KK, Town of Monroe. As a result of the investigation, Kevin W. Haffele, age 24, of Monroe, was arrested for Second Offense Operating While Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Haffele had been operating in the parking lot when he struck a parked vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. There was no airbag deployment and seatbelt usage is unknown. Haffele was released to a responsible party pending court.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 5:22 P.M., Deputies responded to the N9000 block of CTH O, Town of New Glarus, for a vehicle vs. power pole. Investigation revealed Alexander T. Atwell, age 21, of rural New Glarus, was northbound on CTH O when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a junction box and power pole before coming to rest. Atwell was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The junction box and power pole sustained severe damage.
 
Warrant Arrest:
At 5:23 P.M., Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on STH 11, near Patterson Road, Town of Clarno. The driver, Jeremy W. Herbst, age 41, of South Wayne, was cited for Non-Registration of Auto and Operating While Suspended. A passenger in the vehicle, Justin R. Myers, age 36, of Gratiot, was arrested for warrants from Lafayette County for Failure to Pay Forfeiture. Herbst was released pending court. Myers was turned over to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Littering:
At 5:45 P.M., Deputies received a complaint of a motorist throwing bags of trash into the Sugar River, off of Decatur Road, Town of Decatur. Investigation resulted in Christy K. Jaggi, age 54, of rural Brodhead, being cited for Depositing Solid Waste on Public Property. She was released pending court.
 
Traffic Arrest:
At 7:38 P.M., Mika L. Funches, age 42, of Madison, was stopped in the N8900 block of STH 69, Town of New Glarus. Funches was cited for Speeding, Operating While Suspended and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration. He was released pending court.
 
Traffic Arrest:
At 10:02 P.M., John L. Carothers Muszynski, age 21, of Darlington, was stopped in the W9400 block of STH 81, Town of Adams.  Carothers Muszynski was cited for Speeding and Operating After Revocation. He was released pending court.
