March 23, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on March 22, 2013:

Operate Under the Influence:
At 12:24 A.M., Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on STH 59, 0.1 mile west of Ladwig Road, Town of Sylvester. Investigation revealed a truck driven by Dana M. Casselman, age 20, of Monroe, was eastbound on STH 59 when she lost control of the truck and left the south side of the road.  Casselman then overcorrected, causing the truck to come back on the road, cross the road, and go off the north side of the roadway. The truck struck an embankment and overturned onto its side. Casselman sustained injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene. She reported wearing a seat belt and no air bags were deployed on her vehicle.  Casselman's truck sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Casselman was arrested for First Offense Operating While Under the Influence of alcoholic beverages and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration. She was released to responsible party pending court.

Child Abuse Arrest:
At 12:55 A.M., Deputies, assisted by the Belleville Police Department, responded to a disturbance at a residence in the W2900 block of Willow Lane, Town of Exeter. As a result of the investigation, Eric C. Wade, age 23, of Belleville, was arrested for Strangulation, False Imprisonment, Substantial Battery, Physical Abuse of a Child, Disorderly Conduct, and a probation hold. Wade remains incarcerated pending court.

Drug Arrest:
At 2:18 A.M., Deputies were advised of a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver southbound on STH 69, headed toward Monroe. Deputies located and stopped the vehicle at Kwik Trip. The driver submitted to field sobriety testing and an arrest for OWI was not warranted. The Monroe Police K9 unit alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search resulted in the arrest of the driver, James S. Stansburry III, age 29, of Orangeville, IL, for Second Offense Possession of Marijuana. Stansburry was jailed pending court.

Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:41 P.M., Deputies responded to the W8700 block of Buckhorn Road, Town of Cadiz, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Kevin L. Holverson, age 39, of Browntown, was westbound on Buckhorn Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Holverson reported wearing a seat belt and no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage with no airbag deployment. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
