March 30, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on March 29, 2013:

MV Crash:
At 12:46 p.m., Deputies, Monroe EMS, Monroe Fire Department, Brodhead EMS, and WI State Patrol were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of CTH P and Five Corner Road, Clarno Township.  Investigation revealed that a pickup truck driven by Randall L. Klitzman, 57, of Churubusco, IN, was traveling west on CTH P when a car driven by Joshua W. Luloff, 22, of Winslow, IL, that was traveling north on Five Corner Road failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Five Corner Road and CTH P, crossed CTH P, and collided with Klitzman's pickup. Both vehicles were then forced off the roadway and Klitzman's pickup struck a stop sign post and a power pole and overturned onto its side. Klitzman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital by Monroe EMS. Klitzman was wearing a seat belt and the air bag on his vehicle was deployed. Klitzman's pickup sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.  Luloff sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital by Monroe EMS. Luloff was wearing a seat belt and his air bag was deployed. A passenger in Luloff's vehicle, identified as Samantha J. Michael, 19, of Winslow, IL, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Monroe Fire Department. Michael sustained serious injuries, was transported from the scene by Brodhead EMS to a nearby landing zone and was then transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital in Madison for treatment of her injuries. Michael was wearing a seat belt and her air bag was deployed. Another passenger in Luloff's vehicle, identified as Buster A. Waldrop, 16, of Winslow, IL, sustained injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene and was later transported by private vehicle to the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Waldrop was wearing a seat belt, but had no air bag deployed where he was seated. Luloff's vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene. The accident remains under investigation and citations are pending.
 
MV Crash:
At 7:47 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to the W800 block of Golf Course Road, Decatur Township, for a car vs. deer accident.  Kimberly S. Pumphrey, 47, of Loves Park, IL, was traveling eastbound on Golf Course Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with Pumphrey’s vehicle.  Pumphrey advised she was not injured and was wearing her seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage was driven from the scene.
 
MV Crash:
At 10:10 p.m., Deputies, Belleville Fire Department, Belleville EMS, and Belleville Police Department responded to the N8500 block of CTH D, Exeter Township, for a single-vehicle rollover crash with road blockage. Travis J. Loeffelholz, 16, of Fitchburg, had been northbound on CTH D, failed to negotiate a curve and entered the west ditch, overturning one time and coming to rest on its roof. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. There was no airbag deployment.  Loeffelholz reported seat belt usage and no injuries. A passenger in the Loeffelholz vehicle, Kendell N. Goecke, age 16, of New Glarus, also reported seat belt usage and no injuries. Loeffelholz was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and released pending court.
