April 23, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incident occurred on April 21, 2013: 

Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 11:21 P.M., a Deputy responded to the W8900 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Kayleigh M. Knell, age 25, of Monroe, was traveling eastbound on STH 81 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle.  Knell reported no injuries, with seatbelt usage, and no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
 
The following incidents occurred on April 22, 2013:
 
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 5:50 A.M., a Deputy responded to the W3300 block of Buol Rd., Town of Exeter, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Merik H. Hovorka, age 27, of Evansville, was traveling eastbound on Buol Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Hovorka reported no injuries, no seatbelt usage and no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 7:14 A.M., Deputies, along with Belleville Fire, EMS, and Med Flight responded to a motor vehicle crash in the N8500 block of CTH X, Town of Exeter.  Investigation revealed Marie H. Venden, age 64, of rural Belleville, was pulling out of her driveway and turning left when she pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle operated by Marvin C. Keehn, age 81, of Belleville.  Marie was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries. Marvin was not wearing a seatbelt and his passenger, Beatrice Keehn, age 80, also of Belleville, was wearing a seatbelt.  Both Marvin and Beatrice were transported from the scene for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
There was airbag deployment in the Venden vehicle.  There were no airbags in the Keehn vehicle. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene.
 
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:42 A.M., a Deputy responded to the N3300 block of STH 59, Town of Sylvester, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. 
Investigation revealed Shirley L. Zumkehr, age 68, of rural Monroe, was traveling westbound on STH 59 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle.  Zumkehr reported no injuries, with seatbelt usage and no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
 
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 8:58 P.M., a Deputy responded to the N600 block of Haddinger Road, Town of Clarno, for a vehicle vs. deer crash.  Investigation revealed Debra D. Gorr, age 50, of rural Monroe, was traveling southbound on Haddinger Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle.  Gorr reported no injuries, seatbelt usage, and no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
