The following incidents occurred on April 29, 2013:
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 8:37 P.M., a Deputy responded to the N7200 block of STH 69, Town of Washington, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Byron W. Green, age 48, of Monticello, was southbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Green reported seatbelt use and no injuries. The vehicle received moderate damage with no airbag deployment. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
Operate Under the Influence:
At 10:00 P.M., a Deputy observed a heavily damaged vehicle operating at slow speeds on STH 11, near CTH OK, Town of Spring Grove. The Monroe Police Department was currently investigating a hit-and-run crash with injuries that occurred within the city limits. Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested Jose Alejandro Olmos Landa, age 32, of Monroe, for Operating While Under the Influence of alcoholic beverages. He was also cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. He was then turned over to the Monroe Police Department for booking on charges related to the hit-and-run crash.
