The following incidents occurred on 07 June 2013:
At 6:11 a.m. GRSO Deputies were called to investigate a car vs. deer crash in the W4200 block of CTH C in the Town of Mt. Pleasant. Michael A Krauss, 58, Belleville, was w/b on CTH C when a deer collided with his vehicle. Krauss, and his passenger, Barbara A Krauss, 56, Monroe, were both reporting seatbelt usage and were uninjured. There was no airbag deployment and the vehicle sustained moderate front end damage. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
At 12:16 p.m. Deputies were called to investigate a one vehicle accident that occurred on CTH KK west of Radio Lane in the Town of Clarno. Investigation determined that a pickup truck driven by Joshua D. Cobb, 29, of Monroe, was traveling west on CTH KK towing a trailer that had a Mustang Track Loader on it. While traveling west on CTH KK the trailer started fishtailing due to the position of the load on the trailer. Cobb lost control of the truck and trailer which spun around and then slid off the south side of the roadway and the truck, trailer, and track loader all overturned onto its side. Cobb and his passenger; James L. DeGraff, 22, of Monroe, were not injured in the accident and were both wearing seat belts. No air bags were deployed in the accident. The pickup truck sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The trailer was towed from the scene and sustained moderate damage. The Mustang Track Loader sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
At 2:09 p.m. Deputies responded to STH 69 near Spring Valley Road in New Glarus Township for a report of a car vs. deer crash. An investigation found that a vehicle driven by David P. Gunderson, 64, of Madison was southbound on STH 69 when a deer entered the Highway and collided with the front end of Gunderson's vehicle. No injuries were report and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damages and was driven from the scene.
Operate w/o a Driver’s License.
At 5:24 p.m. Deputies cited Oscar A. Silva-Alfaro, 21, Freeport was cited for Operating without a Valid Driver in the in the N1700 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno. Silva-Alfaro was released pending court.
At 6:22 p.m. Deputies, DNR Warden, Browntown FD, South Wayne FD, Monroe Ems and Medflight responded to a ATV Crash with Injuries on the Tri County Trail near Dill Road, Town of Cadiz. Investigation revealed that Darren R. Blakesley, 44, of Machesney Park, IL, Jeffrey S. Mount, 50, of Loves Park, IL, and Christopher L. Bennett 26 of Brodhead, WI were operating 3 ATV's east bound on the Tri County Trail. Darren and Jeffrey had stopped at a stop sign in the W9200 block and continued eastbound. Upon reaching CTH MM they observed that Christopher was not behind them. Upon returning the area Christopher was found lying in the middle of the trail and his ATV was flipped. Christopher was injured and transported by Medflight to UW Hospital. Results of the investigation indicate that Bennett was eastbound on the tri County trail when he lost control of the ATV while attempting to stop at the stop sign. The ATV then flipped causing Bennett to be ejected off the ATV. During the crash Bennett's helmet was flung off. Bennett was cited for ATV OWI 1st Offense and operating an ATV in a careless manner. It appears that Alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. Incident remains under investigation.
At 9:14 p.m. Deputies responded to the W6000 block of CTH H, New Glarus Township for a mvc. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Rory R. Weeden, 39, of New Glarus, was traveling east on CTH H, when a deer entered the roadway. Weeden was not able to avoid striking the deer. Weeden, and the passengers in the vehicle, reported no injuries and seatbelts were worn. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
At 9:55 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to the N4800 block of CTH J, Monroe Township, for a car vs. deer accident. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Curtis A. Moen, 54 of New Glarus, was traveling north bound on CTH J, when a deer entered the roadway. Moen was not able to avoid striking the deer. Moen, and his passengers, reported no injuries and seatbelts were worn. There
was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and was driven from the scene.
