June 24, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on June 23, 2013: 

Traffic Crash:
At 6:36 A.M., Green County Deputies, Brodhead Fire and EMS responded to a one-vehicle crash, with the vehicle upside down submerged in water, on Town Center Road at CTH T, Town of Spring Grove. Brodhead Fire Water Rescue entered the water and searched for the victim(s). Investigation later revealed Evan J. Murphy, age 31, of Durand, IL, was southbound on CTH T when he entered the west shoulder and lost control. The vehicle entered the west ditch where it continued southbound until colliding with the shoulder of Town Center Road. The vehicle became airborne across Town Center Road before landing in the south ditch, upside down, in approximately five feet of water. The vehicle sustained very severe damage with airbag deployment and was towed from the scene. Evan Murphy fled the scene with the assistance of Donna M. Murphy, age 61, of Davis, IL. He was later located at his residence in Durand by Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputies. He sustained injuries in the crash and reported wearing his seatbelt. Evan Murphy will be cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Operating While Revoked and Failure to Notify Police of a Crash.  Donna Murphy will be cited for Knowingly Assisting a Person to Flee from an Accident Scene. She responded to the crash scene, provided Evan Murphy with a ride away from the crash scene, and attempted to call a tow service to remove the vehicle. Both will be released pending court.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 10:31 A.M., Deputies responded to the N3800 block of Park Road, Town of Decatur, for a vehicle vs. tree crash. The driver fled the scene. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was impounded. The crash remains under investigation.
 
Drug Arrest:
At 12:43 P.M., DNR Wardens alerted Green County Deputies to drug usage near the Pecatonica River on West River Road, near Martintown Road, in the Town of Cadiz. Investigation into the incident led to the arrest of Casey E. Solace, age 29, of Lena, IL, for Possession of 25 grams or less of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Solace was released, pending the issuance of citations and a court date.
 
Alcohol Offense:
At 5:47 P.M., Deputies were requested to assist Albany Police with a trespassing complaint in the 200 block of S. Water Street, Village of Albany. As a result of the investigation, Kyle H. Russell, age 20, of Cottage Grove and Dalton J. Sommers, age 20, of Monona were both cited for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. They were released pending court.
 
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:15 P.M., a Deputy responded to the W6300 block of STH 11, Town of Monroe, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Heidi M. Digman, age 66, of Monroe, was westbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle. The occupants were not injured and were wearing seatbelts. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
