July 27, 2013: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on July 26, 2013:
At 1:51 a.m., Deputies responded to the N800 block of Five Corner Road, Jefferson Township, for a car vs. deer crash. Karl J. Albright, 27, of Monroe, was southbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Albright was wearing his safety belt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The airbags did not deploy.
At 4:13 p.m., Deputies arrested Justin T. Douglas, 22, of Monroe, for Theft (under $2500) following an investigation at a residence on Thorp Road in the Town of Clarno. Douglas was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court or bond.
At 7:00 p.m., Deputies cited, Shannon B. Bennett, 23, of Brodhead, for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License on STH 59 at Decatur Sylvester Road, in the Town of Decatur. Bennett was released pending court.
At 9:26 p.m., Deputies, Brodhead EMS, and Brodhead Fire Department responded to the N2400 block of CTH GG, Spring Grove Township, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by Levi J. Rundle, 16, of Brodhead, was traveling south on CTH GG when the vehicle crossed over into the east ditch line and rolled over. Rundle was ejected from the motor vehicle. Rundle was transported by EMS for injuries sustained in the crash. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Crash is still under investigation.
Traffic and Drug Arrest:
At 11:02 p.m., Deputies stopped two cars for going 79 MPH in the W4900 block of STH 11 in the Town of Sylvester. Demetrius N. Price, 25, Freeport, IL and Lorenzo T.O. Brown, 23, Freeport, IL were cited for speeding. Two passengers in Brown's vehicle, Drean D. Mc Gee, 20, Freeport, IL and Jerron M. Hughes, 23, Freeport, IL were cited for Possession of Marijuana. All four were released pending court. The Monroe P.D. Canine officer assisted at the scene.
