The following incidents occurred on August 17, 2013:
At 4:31 a.m., Edy J. Castro Joya, 19, of Fitchburg, was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Driver’s License. The offense location was the N8900 block of STH 69, New Glarus Township.
At 5:55 p.m., Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. tractor crash on Legler Road, north of Mortenson Road, Brooklyn Township. Investigation revealed that Bernard C. Easterday, 83, of Brooklyn, was southbound on Legler Rd on his 1975 John Deere 2240 farm tractor. John H. Lawrence, 49, of Brooklyn, was southbound on Legler Road, following Easterday. Lawrence then decided to pass Easterday, as Easterday turned east into a field and both units collided. John Lawrence and his passenger were not injured in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts and the air bags did not deploy. Lawrence vehicle sustained severe damage and was removed from the scene. Easterday had no damage to his tractor, no injury and the tractor was driven from the scene.
