August 21, 2013:  News Release

The following incidents occurred on August 20, 2013:

 

Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:

At 8:21 A.M., Deputies were advised of a vehicle vs. deer crash that occurred around 3:20 A.M., in the N7900 block of Sandy Hook Road, in the Town of Brooklyn.  Investigation revealed Carissa K. Suchomel, age 22, of Albany, was northbound on Sandy Hook Road when two deer entered the road and collided with her vehicle.   Suchomel reported seatbelt usage and claimed no injuries.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end and rear-driver-side damage, with no air bag deployment, and was driven from the scene.

 

Traffic Crash:

At 12:39 P.M., Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Schlappi Road, in the Town of Cadiz.  Investigation revealed David A Schroepfer, age 42, of Deerbrook, WI, was southbound on Green Valley Road and had been stopped at the stop sign with Schlappi Road. Schroepfer continued south when a pickup truck, driven by  Austin S Wand, age 22, of Winslow, IL, was westbound on CTH P, continued west on Schlappi Road, and collided with Schroepfer’s vehicle.

 

Schroepfer and Wand claimed no injuries.  Schroepfer’s vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and Wand’s vehicle sustained minor right-side damage.  Both vehicles had no air bag deployment and were driven from the scene.

 

Domestic Abuse:

At 5:17 P.M., Deputies responded to the Monroe Clinic ER for a possible domestic abuse incident that occurred at a residence in the W1200 block of 4th Street, in the Town of Albany.  After investigation, David C. Kraft, age 37, of Albany, was arrested for Domestic Abuse Related Disorderly Conduct, Substantial Battery, Strangulation, and a Child Support Warrant.  KRAFT was jailed pending court.

 

Traffic Crash/Operate Under the Influence:

At 8:12 P.M., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the N5600 block of CTH N, Town of Washington.  Investigation revealed Celeste J. Dawson, age 36, of Warren, IL, was southbound when the right side tires of her vehicle went onto the gravel shoulder.  Dawson steered back towards the road, but oversteered and went back into the ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert and some trees before coming to a rest.  Dawson reported seatbelt usage and claimed no injuries.  The vehicle sustained very severe damage, no air bag deployment, and was towed from the scene by Jelle's Towing.  Dawson was arrested for 1st Offense Operating While Under the Influence of Intoxicants.  Dawson was released to a responsible party pendin1g court.

 

Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:

At 9:09 P.M., Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle vs. deer crash that occurred in the N9200 block of Legler Road, in the Town of Brooklyn.  Investigation revealed Daniel F. Kinney, age 72, of Brooklyn, WI, was southbound on Legler Road when a deer collided with his vehicle.  Daniel and his passenger, Nancy K. Kinney, age 68, of Brooklyn, WI, reported seatbelt usage and claimed no injuries.  The vehicle sustained minor to very minor front-end damage, no air bag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
