September 18, 2013: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on September 17, 2013:
At 3:21 a.m., Deputies were called to the W8300 block of CTH B, Cadiz Township, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Brian E. Schultz, 49, Browntown, was eastbound when a deer collided with his vehicle. Schultz reported wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle was not equipped with airbags. The vehicle sustained minor driver's side damage and was driven from the scene.
At 7:24 a.m., Deputies were called to the N7800 block of STH 104, Brooklyn Township, for a Hit and Run. A motor vehicle was traveling northbound when it entered the east ditch line, then came back onto the roadway and re-entered the east shoulder and east ditch line. The vehicle traveled northbound in the ditch line, overcorrected and crossed the roadway. The vehicle entered the west ditch line and struck the embankment. The vehicle left the scene, possibly traveling into Rock County. Deputies contacted the Rock County Sheriff's Department and were informed the operator of the vehicle, Karla K. Gorman, 32, Evansville, had been arrested in their county for an OWI. It was determined that Gorman had sustained a noncapacitating injury, reported wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, and there was no airbag deployment. Green County Sheriff's Department cited Gorman for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of a Motor Vehicle Crash and Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle. Gorman was released pending court.
At 12:21 p.m., Deputies arrested John M. Cayer, 41, New Glarus, on a Department of Corrections warrant. Cayer was jailed.
At 1:10 p.m., Deputies cited Phillip E. Fields, 18, of Albany, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at a residence on Atkinson Road in the Town of Albany. Fields was released pending court.
At 3:21 p.m., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on STH 69/CTH NN, Township of New Glarus. Pamela Sue Wester, 55, of Willard, MO, was northbound on STH 69 when she struck a deer. Wester was not injured, was wearing a seatbelt and there was no airbags deployed. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
At 7:31 p.m., Deputies responded to the W7100 block of STH 81, in Monroe Township, for a motor vehicle crash. Jerry A. Bredeson, 46, of Blanchardville, was traveling eastbound on STH 81 when a deer entered his lane of travel from the south ditch line and collided with his vehicle. Bredeson and his passenger were wearing their seat belts and were uninjured. Bredeson's vehicle sustained moderate front-end and passenger-side damage. There was no airbag deployment and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
