The following incidents occurred on September 21, 2013:
At 8:50 A.M., a Deputy located a motor vehicle crash in the N100 block of CTH T, Town of Spring Grove.
Investigation revealed Alexandria E. Mercer, age 57, of rural Winnebago, IL, had been travelling north in a pickup truck, towing a tandem axle horse trailer. While she was rounding a corner, her trailer became detached, separated from the towing unit, and rolled over into a field on the east side of the road. The unit was uprighted by the nearby residents and later towed from the scene. The unit suffered moderate damage. The truck received no damage, seatbelts were used and there were no injuries.
At 11:00 A.M., Deputies responded to STH 69, near Patina Lane, Town of Clarno, for a motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed Leo J. Stadelman, age 80, of Freeport, IL, was traveling north on STH 69 when a motorcycle that was in front of his vehicle braked. Stadelman braked and swerved to the right to avoid striking the motorcycle, and struck a guardrail along the east side of the roadway. Stadelman and his passenger reported no injuries and seatbelt usage. Stadelman's vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. The guardrail that was struck sustained severe damage.
