October 02, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on October 1, 2013:

Warrant Arrest:
At 8:24 A.M., a Deputy, assisted by Albany Police, responded to a business in the 700 block of Cincinnati Street, Village of Albany, and took Jeremy A. Barnett, age 18, of rural Albany, into custody on a Rock County warrant.
He was turned over to the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.

Traffic Crash:
At 3:07 P.M., Deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, New Glarus Police, New Glarus Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle crash on Pioneer Road, at Titus Lane, Town of New Glarus. Investigation revealed Clark W. Bennett, age 51, of Shullsburg, was operating a milk truck eastbound on Pioneer Road when he reported a possible equipment failure, causing him to lose control. The vehicle exited the roadway, struck a tree, continued down an embankment, striking numerous trees on the way, before striking a creek bed and coming to rest. The collision caused severe damage to the vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The collision also caused an oil spill of approximately 10 gallons, which was subsequently cleaned up. Bennett received injuries and was transported by EMS for treatment. Bennett was not wearing his safety belt and will be cited for that offense. The vehicle was not equipped with airbags.

GCSD Patrol Deputy Betsy A. Krantz #11
