The following incidents occurred on November 4, 2013:
At 4:07 A.M., a Deputy stopped a vehicle in the W1100 block of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove. The driver, Maura Mejia, age 42, of Beloit, was cited for Operating Without a Valid Driver’s License, Second Offense within Three Years. She was released pending court.
Follow up to Crash Investigation:
At 4:25 A.M., Deputies responded to the W9100 block of CTH MM, Town of Cadiz, for a one-vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed that a vehicle was westbound and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle struck a wooden post then went down an embankment before coming to a rest. The driver fled the scene. The vehicle sustained severe damage, was towed from the scene, and impounded. The airbags did not deploy and the safety belt was used. The driver was later identified as Joshua C. Broge, age 25, of rural South Wayne. Broge was cited for Criminal Operating While Revoked, Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle, Failure to Notify Police of a Crash, No Mandatory Insurance, Non-Registration of a Vehicle, Display False Registration, and Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Highway.
At 9:17 A.M., Deputies responded to Behr Salvage, N2193 Clarno Road, Town of Clarno, for a report of stolen items being turned in for scrap. As a result of the investigation, Steven A. Steiner, age 20, of Browntown, was arrested on charges of Felony Bail Jumping and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Steiner was also cited for Theft. Chad D. Olson, age 21, of Browntown, was cited for Theft. Steiner was jailed and Olson was released pending court. The property was returned to the owner.
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 4:58 P.M., a Deputy responded to the N7100 block of CTH E, Town of Albany, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Jeremy L. Yaun, age 30, of Brooklyn, was northbound on CTH E when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Yaun was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured. Yaun's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.
