The following incidents occurred on November 10, 2013:
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 4:29 a.m., Shawn M. O'Rourke, age 47, of Monroe, was westbound in the W7500 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan, when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his truck. O'Rourke reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained very minor front-end damage and was driven from the scene.
At 4:18 p.m., Deputies responded to STH 11 at CTH GG, Town of Spring Grove, for a motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed John S. Hannan, age 23, of Platteville, was eastbound on STH 11 when he attempted to pass two vehicles, saw oncoming traffic, and lost control after entering the north shoulder. The vehicle struck a road sign, then skidded across the highway into the south ditch of STH 11/81 at CTH GG. Hannan and his passengers reported wearing seatbelts and claimed no injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Hannan was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle and was released pending court.
