The following incidents occurred on November 13, 2013:
Traffic Crash:
At 4:12 A.M., a Deputy responded to a vehicle vs. deer crash in the W4100 block of STH 11/81, Town of Jefferson. Investigation revealed Gene A. Coplien, age 57, of Brodhead, was eastbound on STH 11/81 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Coplien and his passengers were not injured and were wearing seat belts. The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
Traffic Crash:
At 8:59 P.M., Deputies responded to the W2600 block of STH 11/81, Town of Jefferson, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Colin C. Vestin, age 19, of Juda, and Diane E. Embry, age 57, of Warren, IL, were both traveling eastbound on STH 11/81. Vestin was preparing to turn left into a business when his vehicle was struck from behind by Embry’s vehicle. No injuries were reported and both subjects were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles sustained severe damages, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene.
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:31 P.M., a Deputy responded to the N5800 block of CTH N, Town of Washington, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed John H. Sandlin, age 51, of Monticello, was southbound on CTH N when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Sandlin was not injured and was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle received moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.
