December 04, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2013:

MV Crash – Injury:
At 1:55 A.M., Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. power pole crash in the W400 block of Rock Hill Road, Town of Spring Grove. The call was received from Alliant Energy, who had located the crash after investigating a power outage in the area. They received an alarm for the outage at approximately 12:30 A.M. Investigation revealed John R. Alderman, age 57, of rural Brodhead, was westbound on Rock Hill Road when the passenger tires left the north side of the road.  Alderman overcorrected and slid back across the road. The vehicle left the south side of the road, where it collided with a power pole before coming to rest. Alderman fled the scene and was later located at his residence. Alderman was transported by Brodhead Area EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. He reported wearing his seatbelt. The vehicle sustained severe damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Alderman was cited for operator Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Notify Police of an Accident. He was released pending court.

A wire from the power pole had been knocked loose during the collision. Repairs were made and power was restored to the area.

Warrant Arrest:
At 11:45 A.M., Tracy Andre Euells, 47, Loves Park, IL, was taken into custody on a Child Support Commitment at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.  He was jailed.

Fire:
At 4:37 P.M., Green County Deputies and Brodhead Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the N4400 block of CTH E, in the Town of Decatur. A control burn had caught a barn on fire. Brodhead FD put out the fire.

MV Crash – Injury:
At 6:12 P.M., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH OK and Preston Road, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. Investigation revealed a vehicle had been traveling south on CTH OK and failed to negotiate the curve at Preston Road. The vehicle left the road and continued south into the south ditch, striking several small trees. Evidence at the scene showed that a tractor had pulled the vehicle out and the vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction. Deputies also located several drops of blood in the mud where the vehicle had struck the trees. The investigation remains open pending the location of the suspect vehicle and driver. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-I-C-CRIME, or visit www.greensheriff.com and click on the Crime Stoppers link.
