December 18, 2013:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on December 17, 2013:

MV Crash:
At 9:03 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to investigate a two-vehicle accident that occurred on CTH KS, near CTH S, Jefferson Township. Investigation revealed that a car driven by Gregory J. Moe, 42, of Juda, was traveling west on CTH KS and was stopped at a stop sign at CTH S when another car, driven by Gary J. Colden, 70, of Juda, backed out of a traffic stall onto CTH KS and collided with Moe's Vehicle.  Neither Moe nor Colden were injured in the accident and both were wearing seatbelts. No airbags were deployed on either vehicle. Moe's vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Colden's vehicle was not damaged in the accident.

MV Crash:
At 6:57 p.m., Deputies responded to the Martintown Church parking lot, in the W8900 block of Lena Street, Town of Cadiz, for a report of a semi that had tried to operate out of the church parking lot and the trailer to the semi caught the cable wire, causing two utility poles to go down. It was reported one of the broken utility poles had struck a residence on Lena Street.
Robert A. Kershaw, age 58, of Janesville, was attempting to make a left hand turn out of the parking lot when the top of his trailer he was pulling caught the steel cable wire above it. Kershaw did not notice the cable wire caught on his trailer and when he pulled out from the parking lot, it caused two utility poles to break off 3/4 of the way down due to the tension on the wire. One of the broken poles fell and caused damage to the north side of a residence on Lena Street. Kershaw reported wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. Kershaw's semi and trailer were not damaged in the accident, there was no airbag deployment, and both were removed from the scene by Kershaw. Alliant Energy and Mediacom were contacted and responded for repair to the poles.

Domestic Dispute:
At 8:19 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the W6600 Block of Franklin Road, Clarno Township, for a Domestic Dispute. Jacob KW Anderson, 17, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of Disorderly Conduct. Anderson was jailed pending court or bond.

MV Crash:
At 9:38 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5000 block of Town Center Road, in Clarno Township, for a single vehicle vs. deer collision. A motor vehicle operated by Michael E. Ritschard, 67, of Juda, was eastbound on Town Center Rd when a single deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Ritschard was the lone vehicle occupant, was wearing safety restraints, and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was driven from the scene. There was no airbag deployment.
