January 11, 2014:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on January 10, 2014:

Disorderly Conduct:
At 11:22 A.M., Deputies responded to a disorderly conduct complaint in the N1800 block of Five Corner Road, Town of Jefferson. Investigation led to Michael J. Ace, age 42, of rural Monroe, being cited for Disorderly Conduct. He was released pending court.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 3:38 P.M., Deputies responded to the W6800 block of CTH H, Town of New Glarus, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Nicole L. Yaun, age 36, of New Glarus, was westbound on CTH H when she lost control of her vehicle due to slippery road conditions. Her vehicle entered the ditch and struck a fence post. Neither Yaun nor her two passengers were injured in the crash.  All subjects were wearing seatbelts and the airbags did not deploy in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 3:58 P.M., Deputies responded to the N3400 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Georgia L. Linden, age 35, of Lena, IL, was southbound on STH 69 when she lost control due to the icy road conditions. The vehicle slid into the west ditch, causing minor damage to the vehicle. Linden was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle was driven from the scene after being removed from the ditch by a tow service.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 5:42 P.M., Deputies, assisted by Monticello Police, responded to a two-vehicle crash on CTH EE, east of River Road, Town of Mount Pleasant.  Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Dustin D. Shaw, age 29, of Black Earth, was eastbound on CTH EE when an unidentified white, dual-wheel pickup truck collided with his vehicle. The white pickup truck fled the area. Shaw's vehicle became stuck in the ditch. Shaw was not injured; his seatbelt was used, and his airbag did not deploy. Shaw’s vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Anyone with information regarding the white truck is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department or Green County Crime Stoppers.
 
Vehicle Fire:
At 7:17 P.M., Deputies, along with The New Glarus Fire and Police Department, responded to the N8400 block of STH 69, Town of New Glarus, for a motor vehicle fire. Gary D. Gobeli, age 60, of Monticello, pulled to the shoulder of the roadway after smelling smoke. The vehicle caught fire and sustained severe damage. It was towed from the scene. All vehicle occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle and sustained no injuries.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 7:47 P.M., Deputies responded to STH 59, near Towns Road, Town of Albany, for a motor vehicle crash, along with other vehicles in the ditch. Investigation revealed Matthew P. Baumgartner, age 22, of Monroe, was eastbound on STH 59 when he lost control while negotiating a curve on the icy roadway. Baumgartner slid into a vehicle stopped in the westbound lane that was operated by Mark J. Hanson, age 54, of MonroeHanson was stopped in the westbound lane due the road conditions. Baumgartner was not injured, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy. His vehicle sustained moderate damage; it was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene. Hanson sustained injuries, but refused treatment, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy. Hanson’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the ditch. There were four other vehicles towed from the ditch at this location.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 8:33 P.M., Deputies responded to the N5800 block of CTH N, Town of Washington, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Paul D. Dahlgren, age 34, of Mount Horeb, was southbound on CTH N and lost control due to the ice-covered roadway.  Dahlgren's vehicle slid into the west ditch while negotiating a curve and became stuck. Brett Bluel, age 28, of Deerfield, was also southbound and lost control due to the ice-covered roadway.  Bluel's vehicle slid toward the west shoulder/ditch where it struck the rear passenger side of Dahlgren's vehicle. Both Dahlgren and Bluel were wearing seatbelts. Dahlgren sustained injuries, but refused treatment. Bluel was uninjured. No airbags deployed in either vehicle. Dahlgren's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Bluel's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Bluel was cited for Nonregistration of an Automobile and was released pending court.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 8:52 P.M., Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Hein Road, west of CTH F, Town of Decatur. The driver of the vehicle fled the crash and did not report it.  Investigation revealed Matthew D. Rockey, age 34, of Juda, was westbound on Hein Road when he lost control on a hill. Rockey's vehicle entered the ditch and collided with a tree. Rockey sustained minor injuries, his seatbelt was used, and the airbag did not deploy. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Rockey was cited for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of a Crash and released pending court.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 8:54 P.M., Deputies responded to the N6300 block of STH 69, Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Allysann E. Sandner, age 27, of Delevan, was southbound on STH 69 when she reported she tried to avoid a vehicle that was sliding towards her, causing her to collide with a guardrail. Sandner was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle received moderate damage and was pulled from the guardrail by a tow service.  The vehicle was driven from the scene.
 
Deputies, assisted by area Police Departments, Fire Departments and the Green County Highway Department, responded to numerous vehicles in the ditch or stuck on the roadway due to the icy road conditions beginning at 6:30 A.M. and continuing throughout the entire day.
