January 15, 2014:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on January 14, 2014:

Warrant:
At 9:52 a.m., Deputies arrested Jarod E. Sandlin, 21, Brodhead, at the Green County Justice Center on a Department of Corrections Probation Warrant. Sandlin was incarcerated in the Green County Jail.
 
Warrant:
At 12:53 p.m., Deputies arrested Raechelle L. Martin, 35, Lena, IL, on a Green County Warrant for Issuance of Worthless Checks at the Green County Justice Center. Martin was incarcerated in the Green County Jail.
 
MV Crash:
At 1:22 p.m., Ned A. Slocum, 61, Elizabeth, CO, was travelling south on CTH 104, north of Amidon Road, in Brooklyn Township, when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle went off the road and rolled over, coming to a stop on its rooftop.  Slocum was not injured and had been wearing his safety belt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle suffered moderate roof, side and hood damage. It was righted and driven from the scene.
 
MV Crash:
At 2:14 p.m., Deputies responded to the N7800 block of CTH CC (Exeter Township) for a report of a two-vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed that a plow truck driven by Harry L. Turner Jr., 54, Monticello, was southbound on CTH CC when he was slowing or stopped to turn into a private drive. While he was slowing or stopped, a second vehicle operated by Katie J. Schmitz, 19, of Belleville, was also southbound on CTH CC and collided with the rear of Harry's vehicle. Harry's vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper and salt spreader. Katie's vehicle sustained moderate damage to the front right quarter panel, hood, and front right headlight. Both vehicles were driven away from the scene. Neither party was injured, seatbelts were worn, and no airbags were deployed.
 
MV Crash:
At 2:55 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the N2000 block of STH 69, in the Town of Clarno. Rhandee H. Wenger, 21, of Browntown, had been driving north on STH 69, heading towards the City of Monroe, when she lost control of the vehicle on the ice/snow-covered roadway. Wenger's vehicle slid into the east ditch and struck another vehicle that had slid off prior to Wenger's. Wenger and her passenger were not injured, were wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags did not deploy. Wenger's vehicle received moderate driver-side damage and the driver window had broken out. The vehicle Rhandee Wenger struck was owned by a Robyn L. Wenger, 19, of Browntown. Robyn Wenger's vehicle was not occupied and received moderate driver's side damage to it.  Both vehicle were towed from the ditch and driven from the scene.
 
MV Crash:
At 3:17 p.m., Deputies located a single-vehicle property damage crash in the N1800 block of STH 69, in Clarno Township. Clifford W. Lu, 27, of Freeport, IL, was southbound on STH 69 when the vehicle he was following suddenly braked, forcing Lu to brake. Lu lost control of his vehicle on the snow/ice-covered roadway and entered the west ditch, where he struck a snow bank and came to rest. Lu was the lone occupant, was properly restrained, and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage with no airbag deployment and was towed from the ditch.  Lu drove the vehicle from the scene.
