The following incidents occurred on March 12, 2014:
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 12:01 A.M., a Deputy responded to the W7800 block of STH 11, Town of Cadiz. William O. Naese, age 47, of Stockton, IL, was westbound on STH 11 when two deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.
Naese was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the collision. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
At 1:33 P.M., Deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol, Green County EMS, Monticello Police, Monticello Fire, and Green County Highway Departments responded to a two-vehicle crash in the N5500 block of STH 69, Town of Washington. Investigation revealed Kasey C. Genthe, age 20, of Albany, was northbound on STH 69 when he reported he passed out, crossed the center line, and struck a southbound vehicle. The southbound vehicle was operated by James P. Disch, age 66, of New Glarus. Both Genthe and Disch were injured and were wearing seatbelts. Disch was transported for injuries sustained in the crash. Genthe refused medical treatment on scene. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, with airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene. Genthe was cited for Reckless Driving and was released pending court.
Operate Under the Influence:
At 6:45 P.M., Deputies and New Glarus Police responded to an erratic driving complaint on STH 69, at CTH NN, Town of New Glarus. The offending vehicle was located and stopped on STH 69, just south of the Village of New Glarus. The driver, John R. Rowley, age 29, of Darlington, was arrested for Second Offense Operating While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance with a Passenger under the age of 16 and a Probation Hold. He was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
At 8:55 P.M., a Deputy responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W8000 block of Smock Valley Road, Town of Jordan. Investigation revealed Samuel D. Sink, age 22, of Monroe, was eastbound when he reported the suspension broke, causing Sink to lose control of the car. The vehicle entered the north ditch and came to rest. Sink was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was later removed from the scene.
Operate Under the Influence:
At 10:25 P.M., Deputies, Monticello and New Glarus Police responded to an erratic driving complaint on STH 69, near CTH H, Town of New Glarus. The offending vehicle was located and stopped in the W5700 block of CTH W. The driver, Katie A. Sanders, age 23, of Darlington, was arrested for First Offense Operating While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance with a Passenger under the age of 16, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of an Illegally Obtained Prescription Drug. She was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending bond or court.
