March 21, 2014:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on March 20, 2014: 

Traffic Crash:
At 4:36 A.M., Green County Deputies, Monroe Police, Monroe Fire, and Green County EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash in the N1900 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno. Investigation revealed Tanginique L. Haynes, age 24, of Freeport, IL, was operating northbound on STH 69. Haynes attempted to pass another northbound vehicle, operated by Heather L. Ramos, age 22, of Freeport, ILHaynes lost control on the snow/ice-covered roadway and collided with Ramos' vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene. Haynes reported no injuries and was wearing a seatbelt. Ramos and her passengers, Tony L. Gordon, age 33, and Samantha L. Dzialowy, age 26, both of Freeport, IL, were wearing seatbelts and sustained injuries in the crash. Ramos, Gordon and Dzialowy were transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital by EMS for treatment. Haynes will be cited for Failure to have Vehicle Under Control. Ramos will be cited for Operating a motor vehicle with No Insurance. STH 69 was closed for traffic for approximately one hour.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 5:15 A.M., Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 11, at Cadiz Springs Road, Town of Cadiz, for a one-vehicle rollover.  Investigation revealed Cory L. Shultz Lincicum, age 19, of South Wayne, was eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to ice/snow on the roadway. The vehicle entered the north ditch and overturned onto its side.  Shultz Lincicum advised he was wearing his safety belt and was uninjured. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The airbags did not deploy.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 5:43 A.M., Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 11 at CTH M, Cadiz Township, for a one-vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed Judith A. Gibson, age 63, of Warren, IL, was eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to ice/snow on the roadway.  The vehicle traveled over a median before striking a guardrail face. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The airbags did not deploy. Gibson advised she was wearing her safety belt and was uninjured.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 5:54 A.M., Deputies responded to the W6600 block of STH 81, Town of Monroe, for a one-vehicle rollover crash. Investigation revealed Rene Castellanos Avila, age 30, of Monroe, was westbound when he moved over for an oncoming vehicle.  Castellanos Avila overcorrected, lost control on the snow/ice-covered roadway and entered the south ditch line, where his vehicle overturned. Castellanos Avila reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment and the vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Castellanos Avila was cited for 3rd Offense Operating While Suspended and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
 
Traffic Crash:
At 6:24 A.M., Green County Deputies, along with the Monroe Fire and Green County EMS, responded to a one- vehicle rollover crash on STH 59, near Greenbush Road, in the Town of Monroe. Investigation revealed Russell H. Standiford, age 67, of rural Monroe, was westbound on STH 59, negotiating a curve, when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow/ice-covered roadway. The vehicle entered the ditch, where it overturned and came to rest on its passenger side. Standiford was not injured in the crash and he was wearing his seat belt. The airbags did not deploy in the crash. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
 
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 3:32 A.M., a Deputy responded to a vehicle vs. deer crash in the W8600 block of Sawmill Road, Town of York. Investigation revealed James A. Stromman, age 59, of rural Blanchardville, was westbound on Sawmill Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Stromman was not injured and reported wearing his seatbelt. His vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
