The following incidents occurred on April 18, 2014:

Driver’s License Violation:
At 2:50 a.m., Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the W7300 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan. The driver, Juan Manuel Perez Juarez, age 23, of Monroe, was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License. Perez Juarez was released pending court.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 4:52 a.m., Deputies responded to the W4900 block of CTH KK, in Sylvester Township, for a motor vehicle crash. Ronald E. Coppes, 63, Monroe, who advised that he was eastbound when he crested the hill and collided with a large pile of brush in the roadway. Coppes reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no airbag deployment and the vehicle sustained minor front-end damage. Coppes was able to drive the vehicle from the scene after cutting the branches from underneath the vehicle. It appears that a vehicle lost its load of cut branches and brush prior to Coppes colliding with the brush.
 
Firearm Injury:
At 12:16 p.m., Deputies investigated a report of a subject being accidently shot at a residence on Greenbush Road in the Town of Sylvester. It was reported that four subjects were shooting skeet when a shotgun malfunctioned. A 17-year-old male was clearing the weapon when the shotgun went off and the shotgun pellets ricocheted off the ground, hitting a 17-year-old male in the right facial area, right shoulder, and right wrist in numerous spots. The subject shot was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Monroe Clinic Hospital.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 2:04 p.m., Deputies responded to Brodhead for a motor vehicle crash. Brodhead PD Officer Nicholas J. Bartels, 34, Brodhead, was backing a Brodhead PD squad car out of a driveway and collided with an old utility pole on the terrace of West 3rd. Avenue. There was no injury, seatbelt was used and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle received moderate, left-rear-quarter-panel damage and was driven from the scene by the operator.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 2:35 p.m., Deputies and New Glarus Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W6600 block of STH 39, New Glarus Township. Investigation found that a vehicle, operated by Vernon W. Harris, 61, of New Glarus, was traveling west on STH 39 and attempting to complete a passing maneuver when the front end of his vehicle got next to the other vehicle and the front vehicle went left of center. Harris advised he swerved to avoid a collision and his vehicle struck the south gravel shoulder. He advised his vehicle entered the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its roof. Harris sustained injuries, but declined EMS. He was wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained several overall damage and was towed from the scene.
