The following incidents occurred on May 2, 2014:
At 12:57 A.M., Deputies received a traffic complaint of a truck pulling a trailer with no lights. Part of the trailer’s load was lost on rural Monroe roadways. The vehicle was last seen on STH 59 eastbound, from the Monroe Industrial Park area. The vehicle and trailer were located at a residence on Stauffacher Road. Investigation determined the trailer had been stolen from a quarry on CTH J, in the Town of Monroe. Austyn R. Althaus, 18, of Monroe, and Nicholas A. Elmer, 19, of New Glarus, were arrested and charged with 3 Counts of Theft. The additional 2 theft charges are due to prior thefts at the same location. Both subjects were booked and released pending court.
