May 31, 2014: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred May 30, 2014:
At 10:38 a.m., Deputies responded to the vacant house located on Asmus Road, in Clarno Township, for a report of two juveniles entering the house. An investigation resulted in two male juveniles, from Monroe, being cited for Trespassing to a Dwelling Without Consent. Both juveniles were released pending court to Monroe School personnel.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 1:54 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a pick-up vs. deer crash on CTH KS, west of Brunkow Road, in the Town of Jefferson. A pickup driven by Tim Allen, 18, of Juda, was eastbound on CTH KS when a deer collided with the passenger side of the truck. No injuries were reported and Allen was wearing his seat belt. The truck sustained minor damages, there was no airbag deployment and it was driven from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 4:21 p.m., Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on STH 69, @ Old Madison Road, New Glarus Township. Investigation found that a vehicle, operated by Vernon W. Harris, 61, of New Glarus, had indicated he was going to be making a left turn onto Old Madison Road. A second vehicle, operated by Drew E. Ostby, 16, of New Glarus, began to pass Harris on the left when Harris began to turn. The Harris vehicle struck the passenger side of Ostby's vehicle. Harris advised he was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Ostby advised he was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor front passenger side damage and was driven from the scene. Ostby was cited for Passing Vehicle Indicating Left Turn and was released pending court.
Driver’s License Violation:
At 4:21 p.m., Deputies cited Andrew J. Ostby, 42, New Glarus, for Operating with a Suspended Driver’s License on STH 69, near Old Madison Road, in the Town of New Glarus. Ostby was released pending court.
At 7:47 p.m., Deputies cited Paul W. Buckham, 39, Brodhead, for Operating without a Motorcycle Endorsement in the W300 block of STH 81 in the Town of Spring Grove. Buckham was released pending court on the traffic violation, but taken into custody on a Child Support Warrant from Richland County. Buckham was released pending court.
