The following incidents occurred on June 12, 2014:
At 12:01 A.M., a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on STH 104 at STH 59, Town of Albany. The driver, Nicholas R. Kernan, age 26, of Albany, was arrested on a Green County body only warrant for Failure to Appear. He was also cited for Operating While Revoked, Failure to Install an IID and Speeding. He was jailed pending court.
At 1:37 A.M., Deputies were notified of a vehicle on its side, off the road in the N4800 block of CTH J, Town of Monroe. Investigation revealed that Patricio Martinez, age 31, of Monroe, was northbound and swerved to miss two deer. The vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled over onto its side. Martinez left the scene and was later located at the Monroe Clinic ER. Martinez sustained injures as a result of the crash. The vehicle was severely damaged, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Martinez advised he was wearing his safety belt. The case is under investigation and citations are pending.
At 10:31 A.M., Deputies, Brodhead Fire, First Response and EMS responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash in the W800 block of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove. Investigation revealed Samantha Jo Westgard, age 22, of Brodhead, was westbound on STH 11. Michael P. Trimarco, age 51, of Schaumburg, IL, was operating a motorcycle westbound in front of Westgard. Trimarco was slowing for a semi unit in front of him. Westgard was unable to slow down in time and collided with the motorcycle. Trimarco was transported by Brodhead EMS to Janesville Mercy Clinic for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. He had been wearing a helmet and eye protection. The motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Westgard was not injured. Her vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. She will be cited for Following Too Close.
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:25 P.M., a Deputy responded to the W5000 block of CTH KK, in the Town of Monroe, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed Kyle S. Smith, age 28, of Monroe, was westbound when a deer collided with his vehicle. Smith was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
