June 16, 2014:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on June 15, 2014:

Traffic Crash:
At 12:19 A.M., a Deputy responded to a vehicle vs. ditch/fence in the N7600 block of CTH N, Town of New Glarus. Investigation revealed Tyler J. Grindle, age 22, of Belleville, was northbound on CTH N when a deer entered the roadway as he was negotiating a curve. Grindle swerved to miss the deer, traveled across the southbound lane, and entered the ditch. The vehicle collided with the ditch and a fence post. Grindle drove the vehicle from the scene and reported the crash from his residence after observing the damage. Grindle and his passenger were wearing seatbelts and were not injured. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with no airbag deployment. Belleville Police assisted with the case.
At 3:40 A.M., Deputies, Brodhead Police and Albany EMS responded to Camp Sweet Mini Ha Ha, N4697 CTH E, Town of Decatur, for a fight between a male and female. As a result of the investigation, Samantha Jean Skoien, age 22, of Janesville, was booked and released for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. She was jailed on a probation hold through Rock County.  Travis Alan Lund, age 21, with no permanent address, was booked and released on Disorderly Conduct. Lund sustained injuries and was treated on scene by EMS.
Operating Under the Influence:
At 4:59 A.M., a traffic complaint of an impaired driver was received in the N9000 CTH CC, Town of Exeter. Paul A. Bennett, age 50, of Rochester, MN, was arrested for First Offense Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants. He was released to a responsible party pending court. The Belleville Police Department assisted at the scene.
Vehicle vs. Deer Crash:
At 9:24 P.M., a Deputy responded to STH 11, west of Mt Hope Road, Town of Spring Grove, for a vehicle vs. deer crash. Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Katie A. Gilbertson, age 26, of Monroe, was traveling westbound on STH 11 when a deer collided with her vehicle. Gilbertson was not injured; her seatbelt was used and the airbag did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate front driver’s side damage and was driven from the scene.
