Clean Up Continues from Storms:  The northern section of Green County, primarily in York and New Glarus Townships, were hit hard by the storms that rolled through about 11:30 pm Sunday night. Many trees, power lines and some structures were heavily damaged near Hay Hollow Road. The National Weather Service toured the area this afternoon and confirmed that it was an F-1 tornado. Thirty cattle were trapped when the grove of oak tress they were under were either snapped off or uprooted, fortunately only two of them had minor injuries. The Red Cross is assisting a family whose home was heavily damaged with many of the windows blown out. Another storm came through about 4:30 am Monday morning and caused widespread damage throughout Clarno, Juda and Brodhead. There are reports of barns and homes that were damaged. Half of the homes in Brodhead were without power and by late afternoon Monday, about 200 homes were still without power. Officials estimate that up to 200 trees were either damaged or uprooted and 100 homes have some type of damage. Crews from Green County Highway Dept., Evansville and Applied Ecological are assisting with the clean up. Crews from Evansville, Stoughton and Jefferson are assisting to restore the power. Officials will continue to assess the damages and residents should call Green County Emergency Management, at 328-9470 to report their damages. Tanna McKeon, Green County Emergency Management
