Traffic Crash with OWI Arrest
At 5:51 A.M., Deputies, along with Belleville Fire and EMS, responded to a motor vehicle crash on STH 92, west of Legler Road, Town of Brooklyn. Investigation revealed a driver operating westbound on STH 92 lost control over the crest of a hill and entered the ditch. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to slide into a driveway embankment. This caused the vehicle to overturn one time. The driver then fled the scene with his dog. Deputies, assisted by Oregon Police, located the driver, Blake E. Weber, age 23, of Brooklyn, at his residence. Brooklyn EMS responded and Weber was transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital ER for injuries sustained in the crash. Weber's seatbelt was used and the airbags did deploy. The dog was not injured in the crash. The vehicle sustained severe overall damage and was towed from the scene. Weber was subsequently arrested for 1st Offense Operating While Under the Influence of alcohol. Weber was cited for Operating Left of Center, Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle and Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of a Crash. He was released pending court.
