The following incident occurred on July 8, 2014:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 7:15 AM, Deputies responded to the Village of New Glarus for a two-vehicle crash, with property damage. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Jeremiah J. Hocking, 22, of Benton, was traveling northbound on STH 69 when he rear-ended a vehicle traveling northbound on STH 69 at STH 39, driven by Carolyn S. Pope, 64, of New Glarus. Both operators were wearing their seat belts and did not report any injuries. Hocking's vehicle sustain moderate damage to the front end of the vehicle, with no airbag deployment. Pope's vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper, with no airbag deployment. Pope drove her vehicle from the scene. Hocking’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Hocking was cited for Inattentive Driving and released pending court.
