July 21, 2014: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred July 20, 2014:
At 12:48 PM, Green County received a traffic complaint of a westbound pickup truck on STH 11, near Lumber Yard Road, in Jefferson Township. The truck had almost collided head-on with the complainant. The offending vehicle had left the roadway, driving into the grass on two separate occasions, and almost hit another oncoming vehicle before it pulled over. Deputies made contact with the witnesses and the driver of the offending vehicle on STH 11, near High School Road, in Sylvester Township. After an investigation, Deputies arrested Marc Francis Dierickx, 27, Monroe, for OWI 2nd. Dierickx was also cited for Operating Motor Vehicle without Proof of Insurance, Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control, Operating Left of Center Line, and Drink from Open Intoxicants as a Driver. Dierickx was released pending court.
At 2:35 AM, Deputies responded to a report of an underage alcohol party at a residence in the N4400 block of CTH J, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the following people being cited for Underage Alcohol Consumption:
Female, 15, of Monroe
Genevieve K. Balch, 18, of Monroe
Edwin M. Ramirez Laureani, 18, of Monroe
Dylen M. Johnson, 18, of Monroe
Female, 16, of Monroe
Turner J. Beernink, 18, of Monroe
Benjamin J. Prophett, 19, of Monroe
Female, 14, of Monroe
The host of the party, Blake A. Bast, 18, of Monroe, was cited for Dispense or Give Alcohol to Underage Persons.
All parties were released pending court.
Criminal Damage to Property:
At 4:19 PM, Deputies responded to a report of male subject smashing mail boxes in the N4200 block of CTH E, Town of Decatur. Upon arrival, the male subject fled into a wooded area and Deputies gave one warning that K9 Ike would be sent into the woods to find him. The male, identified as Timothy C. Brockway, 37, of Beloit, surrendered voluntarily. Brockway was arrested for (4) counts of Criminal Damage to Property and he was booked into the Green County Jail pending bond or court.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 5:42 PM, Deputies and New Glarus Police Department responded to a motorcycle vs. deer accident in the N9500 block of CTH O, New Glarus Township. Investigation found that a motorcycle, operated by Andrew W. Knudson, 30, of Monticello, was traveling south on CTH O when he collided with a deer that entered the roadway. Knudson advised he put the motorcycle on its side after striking the deer, which skidded across the roadway for a distance, which caused him to be ejected from the motorcycle. Knudson sustained injuries, but declined medical treatment. Knudson was wearing a helmet and eye protection. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage. It was removed from the scene by Knudson.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 9:01 P.M., Deputies and New Glarus First Response/EMS, were dispatched to the W6600 block of STH 39, New Glarus Township, for a motorcycle crash. Investigation found that a motorcycle, operated by Dale C. Schroeder, 60, of Belleville, was traveling east on STH 39 when a deer entered the roadway. Schroeder took evasive action to avoid striking the deer and entered the south ditch where the motorcycle overturned, ejecting both Schroeder and his passenger. Schroeder sustained injuries and was transported by EMS. A passenger advised she was not injured. Both were wearing helmets and eye protection and both were ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Schroeder's son.
