December 07, 2015:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on December 6, 2015:

Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 5:36 AM, Deputies located a motor vehicle crash in the west ditch, in the N5200 block of CTH N, in the Town of Washington. The vehicle sustained severe damage and appeared to have rolled over. The driver had fled the scene without contacting Law Enforcement.  The driver, Derek J. Morgan, 23, Monroe, was later located at his residence. Morgan was traveling southbound on CTH N when he failed to negotiate a curve near Tucker Road. The vehicle entered the west ditch and overturned, coming to a rest in the southbound lane. The vehicle then appeared to have been driven into the west ditch line. Morgan reported being uninjured. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. The airbags did not deploy and there was no seat belt usage.  Morgan was issued the following citations:
 
-Failure of Operator to Notify Police of Accident (2nd Offense)
-Driving Too Fast for Conditions (2nd Offense)
-Vehicle Operator Fail to Wear Seatbelt
-Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance
-Operating After Suspension
-Non Registration of a Motor Vehicle
 
Morgan was also cited for a motor vehicle crash, which occurred on September 29, 2015. For this crash, he was cited for the following:
 
-Failure of Operator to Notify Police of Accident (1st Offense)
-Driving too Fast for Conditions (1st Offense)
-Vehicle Operator Failure to Wear Seatbelt
-Operating After Suspension
 
Morgan was released pending court.
 
Drug/Narc:
At 9:44 AM, Deputies arrested Richard Dean Thomas, 31, Brodhead, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Bail Jumping.   Thomas was jailed pending a cash bond or a court appearance.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 7:12 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W9400 CTH C, Town of Adams. Jason L. Riley, 39, of Monticello, was traveling east on CTH C when a deer entered the roadway and collided with Riley’s vehicle. Riley advised he was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.
