The following incident occurred on December 22, 2015:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 6:09 PM, Deputies responded to the 500 block of Railroad Street, Village of New Glarus, for a two-vehicle, property damage crash. Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Jeffrey W. Sturdevant, 38, of Monroe, was traveling southbound on Railroad Street when a second vehicle operated by Charles F. Bigler, 64, of New Glarus, was backing out of a parking spot and did not observe Sturdevant's vehicle. Bigler's vehicle collided with Sturdevant's vehicle. Sturdevant reported wearing his seatbelt, with no injuries. Bigler reported no injuries and that he was not wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Sturdevant's vehicle sustained moderate, rear-driver's-side, quarter panel damage. Bigler's vehicle sustained minor rear-end damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Bigler was issued a citation for Unsafe Backing and released pending court.
