The following incidents were reported on Tuesday, December 29, 2015:
At 3:26 p.m., Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and operating left of the centerline on STH 59, near CTH SS, Town of Sylvester. The vehicle fled and a pursuit westbound on STH 59 ensued. The driver threw a bottle of alcohol out of the vehicle during the pursuit. The pursuit lasted 2.5 miles. The driver, Josh E. Argo, 27, of Monticello, was arrested on STH 59, near Forest Prairie Park Road.
Argo was arrested for: Knowingly Flee an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated 1st Offense (alcohol & drug), Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Argo was cited for Speeding, Operating Left of the Centerline, Littering and Drinking Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Argo was jailed pending court. The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit and Monroe Police assisted in the investigation.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Vehicle vs. Deer:
At 6:39 p.m., Deputies responded to a car versus deer crash in the W8200 block of STH 81, in the Town of Jordan. Shari A. Curran, 36, Argyle, was westbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle. Curran advised that she and her passengers were uninjured and reported wearing seatbelts. There was no airbag deployment. The car received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
