January 10, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on January 9, 2016:


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:25 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W2300 Block of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove.  Bobbie J. Neal, 33, of Brodhead, was traveling east when she attempted to avoid a vehicle in the ditch.  Neal lost control and collided with another eastbound vehicle driven by Samantha J. Westgard, 24, of Brodhead.  Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.  There was no airbag deployment, no injuries, and seatbelts were worn.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 7:38 PM, Shane M. Kosier, 24, Savanna, IL, collided with a deer in the W700 Block of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove, causing moderate front-end damage.  Kosier reported being uninjured and wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment and the vehicle was driven from the scene.



At 8:15 PM, Deputies and Brodhead Police Department, responded to the N3400 Block of STH 104, in the Town of Decatur, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.  Investigation resulted in Tina M. Horner, 39, of Janesville, being arrested for Operating Under the Influence (1st) and cited for Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle.  Horner was released pending court.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 9:17 PM, Deputies and Belleville Police Department responded to the N9000 Block of Legler Road, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a motor vehicle crash.  Franklin E. Williams, 23, of Madison, was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Williams was injured, but refused medical attention.  Williams was wearing his seatbelt, and air bags did deploy. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.  Williams was arrested for Operating Under the Influence (1st) and released pending court.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 9:40 PM, Deputies responded to the N6900 Block of CTH N, Washington Road, for a motor vehicle crash.  Dennis W. Hetland, 72, of Monroe, was traveling southbound on CTH N when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Hetland and a passenger were uninjured and reported wearing their seatbelts.  There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene by the operator.
