January 24, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incident occurred on January 23, 2016:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 12:30 AM, Alysha M. Monahan, 19, Argyle, was traveling eastbound  in the W7700 block of CTH C, in the Town of Adams, when a deer collided with her vehicle. The driver was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene by the operator of the vehicle.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 2:08 AM, the Sheriff's Department received a traffic complaint of a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of STH 11, from the Argyle Interchange. Investigation revealed that the vehicle struck a traffic sign post on the westbound exit ramp of STH 11. The vehicle was later located unoccupied by Monroe PD at a residence in Monroe. The driver was Dwayne P. Helmer, 45, of Monroe. Helmer was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt. The air bags did not deploy. There was minor damage to the vehicle. Helmer was cited for Operate with a Revoked Driver’s License and Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Highway.  Helmer was released pending court.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 10:39 AM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle vs. deer crash on State Highway 69, south of Exeter Crossing Road, in the Town of New Glarus.  Wendy Jo Klus, 45, of Loves Park, Illinois, was northbound on State Highway 69 when two deer ran out onto the Highway. The last deer collided with the front end of the Klus vehicle, causing moderate front-end damage. No injuries were reported and Klus was wearing her seatbelt. The airbags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:54 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W6800 block of CTH C in the Town of Washington.  A vehicle operated by De Ann M. Rossing, 58, of Argyle, was westbound on CTH C when she collided with a deer.  De Ann was not injured, she was wearing her seatbelt, and airbags did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage.  The vehicle was driven from the scene by De Ann.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 10:15 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W100 Block of Borchardt Road, in the Town of Decatur.  Lydia Steinmann, 61, Argyle, was westbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle.  Steinmann reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was driven from the scene.
