January 26, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on January 25, 2016:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 6:18 AM, Deputies responded to the N5000 block of County Highway M, in the Town of Adams, for a motor vehicle crash. Laura Patricia Stephens, 43, Argyle, was operating northbound when she collided with a deer that ran into the roadway.  The driver and passengers were wearing seat belts, there was no airbag deployment and no injury. The motor vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 12:47 PM Deputies, Juda Fire Department and Monroe EMS responded to the N3500 block of STH 59, in the Town of Sylvester, for a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Michael A. Yates, 58, of Albany, was traveling southbound on STH 59 when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the west ditch where the vehicle overturned several times.   The vehicle came to a rest in the west ditch on its right side.  Yates was extricated from the vehicle and transported the Monroe Clinic ER for injuries sustained in the crash.  Yates was wearing his seat belt and the air bags did not deploy.  The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.  Yates will be cited for Inattentive Driving.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:40 PM, Deputies responded to the W1900 block of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove, for a motor vehicle crash.  Rosa Alvarez San Juan, 20, of Darlington, was traveling westbound on STH 11 when she lost control of her vehicle.  The vehicle entered the north ditch where it struck a no passing sign and continued down a steep embankment.  The vehicle came to rest on the hill, approximately 20 yards from the roadway.  Rosa Alvarez San Juan reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. Her passenger was secured in a child car seat and did not sustain any injuries.  There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end driver's side damage and was towed from the scene.  Rosa Alvarez San Juan was cited for Operate without a Valid Driver’s License and released pending court.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 6:08 PM, Deputies, Albany Police Department, Albany Fire Department, and Brooklyn EMS responded to the W300 Block of STH 56, in the Town of Albany, for a motor vehicle crash.  Lynn A. Johnson, 66, of Albany, was operating a motor vehicle westbound on STH 59 when she lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered roadway.  The vehicle then entered and collided with the south side ditch of STH 59. Johnson sustained injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, airbags did not deploy, and was extricated from the vehicle.  Brooklyn EMS transported Johnson to Meriter Hospital. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end and undercarriage damage.  The vehicle was driven from the scene.


Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 9:13 PM, Deputies, Monroe Fire Department and Monroe EMS responded to the N3200 block of STH 81, in the Town of Monroe, for a motor vehicle crash.  Brenda L. Welty, 55, of Argyle, was operating a vehicle northbound on STH 81 when she left the roadway and struck a culvert in the eastside ditch. The vehicle then entered private property and struck a parked snowmobile and sign.  Welty suffered an injury, was wearing her seatbelt, and airbags did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained moderate damage to the undercarriage, and driver side door.  Welty was transported by Monroe EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.
