February 02, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on February 1, 2016:

Traffic Arrest:

At 1:33 AM, Deputies stopped Michelle R. Zoller, 36, of Belleville, on CTH W in the W3800 Block, Town of New Exeter, for a traffic violation.  Zoller was cited for Operating After Suspension and Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance.  Zoller was released pending court.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:28 AM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 59 and Broughton Road, Albany Township, for a vehicle vs. utility pole.  Jayden L. Rufenacht, 20, of Gratiot, was westbound on STH 59 and began to negotiate the curve at Broughton Road when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roads.  Rufenacht’s vehicle then slid into the west ditch and struck a utility pole. Rufenacht was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt, and the vehicle's air bags did not deploy.  Rufenacht’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:44 AM, Deputies responded to the N3700 block of CTH N, in the Town of Monroe, for a car vs. deer crash.  Ryan J. Plantenberg, 32, Monroe, was northbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Plantenberg reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 6:05 AM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on CTH M, South of Schlappi Road, in the Town of Cadiz.  A vehicle driven by Christopher J. Moelllers, 25, of Mineral Point, was traveling northbound when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway.  His vehicle slid off the roadway and overturned onto its roof. There was no injury, seatbelt was worn, and there was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 7:06 AM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the W4600 block of Burkhalter Road, Town of Sylvester.  John B. Kallgren, 64, of Monroe, was traveling west on Burkhalter Road when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle.  Kallgren advised he was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
