The following incidents occurred on March 5, 2016:
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 11:37 PM, Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on STH 81, west of STH 11, Town of Monroe. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Simon J.Bonjour, 18, of Monroe, was westbound on STH 81 when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch, colliding with a road sign. Bonjour sustained injuries, but refused treatment at the scene. His seatbelt was used and the airbag did not deploy. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The snow-covered slippery roads were a contributing factor to the crash.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 5:21 AM, Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash that occurred on CTH J, north of STH 81, Town of Monroe. Roberto Carlos Cruz Mata, 28, of Richland Center, was traveling north on CTH J when he stated he swerved to miss a raccoon in the roadway. Cruz Mata drove off the west side of the roadway into the ditch, then went through a fence, and then struck a tree. Cruz Mata suffered an injury, but refused medical treatment at the scene. Cruz Mata stated he was wearing a seat belt and no air bags were deployed. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Cruz Mata was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle After Revocation, Non-Registration, and for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. Cruz Mata was released pending court.
At 5:05 AM, Deputies cited Matthew D. Schupbach, 32, of Brodhead, for Operating after Driver’s License is Suspended and Speeding in the N2300 block of CTH T, Town of Spring Grove.
At 10:40 PM, Deputies received a traffic complaint on STH 69, near Monticello. Deputies and Monticello PD located and stopped the vehicle on STH 69, at CTH FF, Town of Monroe. Jack D. Bolster, 60, of Rockford, IL, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence and cited for Left of Center. Bolster was later released pending court.
