May 27, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents were reported on Thursday, May 26th, 2016:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

 

At 11:56 AM, Deputies responded to a crash that occurred in the N3900 block of STH 59, Town of Sylvester.  Kirk A. Miller, 40, of Monticello, was eastbound when a 4 x 6 sheet of wood fell off the back of his truck.  Samantha J. Masseur, 28, of Monroe, was also eastbound, following the truck, when she reportedly struck the piece of wood in the road.

 

Miller did not have any damage to his truck.  Masseur had moderate damage to her vehicle.  Neither Miller nor Masseur were injured and both were wearing seat belts.  The air bags did not deploy.  Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

 

Traffic Offense:

 

At 6:03 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of 9th Street, in the City of Monroe.  Curtis J. Gerber, 32, of Monroe, was cited for Operating After Suspension. He was released pending court.

 

Drug Arrest:

 

At 6:53 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of South Cincinnati Street, Town of Albany.  Investigation resulted in the driver, Samantha J. Guinter, 25, of Albany, being arrested for a Department of Corrections probation violation.  Guinter was cited for Improper Display of Registration Decal.  Guinter was jailed.  A passenger in the vehicle, Coltyn L. Gage, 20, of Albany, was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Psilocybin Mushrooms.  Gage was jailed pending court.  The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit and Albany Police assisted with the investigation.

 

Operating While Intoxicated:

 

At 8:39 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle on CTH C & N. Pratt Road, in the Village of Monticello.  Michael B. Hoban, 59, of Monticello, was arrested for OWI 1st Offense (alcohol).  Hoban was cited for Suspended Registration and Operating with PAC-1st Offense.  He was released pending court.
