July 05, 2016: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on July 4, 2016:
At 12:24 AM, Deputies responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle operating all over the roadway on STH 59, near STH 104, in the Town of Albany. The vehicle was located and stopped. The driver, David L. Mancl, 33, of Albany, was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle after Driver’s License is Revoked and was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash – OWI:
At 2:21 AM, Deputies, New Glarus Fire and New Glarus EMS responded to the N9600 block of STH 69, in the Town of New Glarus, for a motor vehicle crash. Investigation determined Mckenzie N. Counsell, 18, of Madison, was traveling northbound on STH 69 when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the east ditch where the vehicle came to a rest. The vehicle was not damaged and the air bags did not deploy. Counsell was not wearing her seat belt and reported injuries. Counsell was transported to the UW-Hospital by New Glarus EMS. Counsell was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense, Operating Without a Valid Driver’s License, Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle, and Failure to Wear Seat Belt. Counsell was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash - Motor Vehicle vs. Bicycle:
At 4:36 PM, Deputies, Monroe Fire and Monroe EMS responded to the W5400 block of CTH DR, in the Town of Monroe, for a report of a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash. Garrett J. Fox, 24, of Monroe, was traveling westbound on CTH DR when he took his eyes off the road due to dropping a soda. While doing so, Fox collided with a bicyclist that was traveling westbound on the shoulder of CTH DR with the mirror on the passenger side of his vehicle. The bicyclist was identified as Thomas J. Cox, 73, of Monroe. Cox sustained injuries and was transported to the Monroe Clinic ER. Fox did not report any injuries and reported that he was not wearing his seat belt. Fox's vehicle received minor damage and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was driven from the scene. Fox was cited for Inattentive Driving and Failure to Wear Seat Belt. Fox was released pending court.
At 6:29 PM, Deputies stopped Mitchell D. Hale, 17, of Westfield, in the W500 Block of Golf Course Road, Decatur Township, for speeding. Investigation resulted in Hale being cited for Speeding and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His passenger, Kevin P. Schauer, 17, of Brodhead, was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Schauer was jailed at Green County pending court. Hale was released pending court.
