July 21, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on July 20, 2016:

Driver’s License Violation:

At 2:36 AM, Evodio Francisco-Lopez, 45, Monroe, was cited for Operate with a Suspended Driver’s License and Operate without Insurance on STH 69, at 6th Street, in the City of Monroe.  Francisco-Lopez was released pending court.

Driver’s License Violation:

At 4:56 AM, Brandon J. Smallwood, 24, of Freeport, IL, was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Driver’s License on STH 11, near CTH S, in the Town of Jefferson.  Smallwood was released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 1:23 PM, Deputies responded to a vehicle crash that occurred on the exit ramp of State Highway 69 south, at State Highway 81 (Argyle interchange), in the Town of Monroe.  A vehicle, operated by Joyce A Fey, 71, of Monroe, was stopped at the stop sign to make a left turn onto State Highway 69 south.  Fey started to pull forward, but had to stop for an oncoming vehicle from her left. Upon stopping, Fey was rear-ended by a van, operated by Rodney K Lockhart, 51, of Beloit. Both vehicles sustained very minor damage to their bumpers. No injuries were reported and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.  The airbags did not deploy in either vehicle and both were driven from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash:

At 5:10 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident in the N7700 Block of Postville Road, in the Town of York.  Samuel M. Zweerts, 17, of Blanchardville, was traveling northbound when his vehicle began to fishtail on the gravel road surface.  The vehicle entered the west ditch where it struck an embankment, causing severe damage to the vehicle.  Zweerts reported that he was wearing his seat belt and that he was not injured.  The air bags did not deploy and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Driver’s License Violation:

At 7:03 PM, Shannon M. Lancaster, 41, of Belleville, was cited for Operating after Driver’s License Suspension in the N5700 block of STH 104, in the Town of Albany.  Lancaster was released pending court.
