August 07, 2016: Daily News Release
The following incidents occurred on August 6, 2016:
At 1:40 AM, Deputies stopped a vehicle in the N4700 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe, for a traffic violation. The driver, Brock A. Westby-Hess, 20, of Monticello, was arrested for Absolute Sobriety and Resisting Arrest. Westby-Hess posted bond and was released.
At 3:28 AM, Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that was parked in the lane of traffic in the N1300 block of CTH K, in the Town of Jefferson. Deputies arrive on scene and arrested Scott M. White, 30, Monroe, on a charge of OWI 2nd offense, alcohol related. White was released pending court.
Motor Vehicle Crash – Deer:
Stephen P. Morstad: CTH M, north of CTH Y, Town of Jordan
Philip L. Jones: W2300 block of Purintun Road, in the Town of Albany
At 3:04 PM, Deputies responded to the Crazy Horse Campground, Town of Decatur, for a welfare check. Investigation resulted in Kathleen E. Kemmer, 49, of Beloit, being arrested for Bail Jumping. Kemmer was jailed pending bond or court.
At 7:29 PM, Deputies arrested Clyde L Leverton, 45, Browntown, on a Department of Corrections Parole/Probation warrant, in the Village Browntown. Leverton was jailed.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 9:18 PM, the Green County Sheriff's Office was informed by Wisconsin DNR Staff at the Yellowstone State Park of a motorcycle accident that occurred today at approximately 2:00 p.m. in Green County. Investigation determined that James K. Hawley, 26, of Cottage Grove, was operating a motorcycle eastbound in the W7800 block of STH 39, in the Town of York. Hawley reported that a silver-colored vehicle, that resembled a Chevrolet Traverse, with an unknown license plate, pulled out in front of him, causing his motorcycle to strike the vehicle. Hawley reported that his motorcycle entered the north ditch, where it flipped over and came to a rest. Hawley reported that the other vehicle left the scene. Hawley reported that his vehicle sustained minor front-end and right-side damage. Hawley reported that he was not injured and was wearing a helmet, with eye protection. Hawley then contacted a friend who picked him up and towed his motorcycle from the scene. Hawley will be cited for Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Accident to Law Enforcement, No Motor Vehicle Insurance, and No Motorcycle Endorsement.
