August 09, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on August 8, 2016:

Traffic Crime:
At 4:54 AM, Deputies cited Laura Becerril Gomez, 23, Brodhead, for Speeding and Operate a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License in the W5400 block of STH 11, Town of Monroe.
Traffic Crime:
At 5:32 AM, Cesar Mario Montero-Adorno, 25, Monroe, was cited for 2nd offense Operate a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License and Operate without Motor Vehicle Insurance at STH 11 and STH 59, in the Town of Monroe.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 12:28 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash in the N5400 Block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington. Sonya M. Lenzendorf, 18, Monroe, stated she was traveling south when she put down the cigarette lighter and took her eyes off the road. Traffic in front of her slowed down and she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Theresa L Waage, 45, Argyle.  Lenzendorf was wearing a seatbelt, airbags did not deploy and she was not injured. Lenzendorf's vehicle sustained minor damage to the left front end.  It was able to be driven from the scene. Waage was not injured, was wearing a seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy.  Waage's vehicle sustained minor right-rear damage and was driven from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 4:29 PM, Deputies and the Monticello Police Department responded to the N6600 Block of STH 69, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a motor vehicle crash.  David H Gilbertson, 66, of Blanchardville, was southbound on STH 69 when a vehicle driven by Audrey L Saxer, 81, of Monticello, pulled out into the intersection to make a left turn in front of Gilbertson, causing a collision.  Gilbertson was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.  Gilbertson's vehicle was not equipped with airbags. Saxer was injured, but declined medical attention.  Saxer was also wearing her seatbelt and air bags did deploy.  Both vehicles sustained severe damage.  Saxer's vehicle was towed from the scene. Gilbertson was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 8:38 PM, Deputies, Belleville Police Department, Fire Department and EMS, responded to the N8800 Block of Sandy Hook Road, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a motor vehicle crash.  Thomas A. Steele, 28, of Brodhead, lost control while turning south onto Sandy Hook Road. The vehicle then collided with the west side ditch, causing the vehicle to roll over onto to its roof. Thomas and his passengers, Alexander T. Steele, age 9, and Emily G. Steele, age 6, all of Brodhead, sustained injuries. Two other passengers, Issac Steele, 1, of Brodhead, and Emily S.M. Heyden, 20, of Belleville, were not injured.  Thomas and Emily reported wearing their seatbelts while the children were properly restrained in their booster and car seats.  The vehicle's airbags did not deploy.  The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Thomas was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and was released pending court.
