October 16, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents occurred on October 15, 2016:

Motor Vehicle Crash (Deer):
·  Brian V. Pooler:    N7800 Block of CTH N, Town of New Glarus
·  David A. Minder:  W8400 Block of STH 11, in the Town of Cadiz
 
Probation Violation:
At 1:09 AM, Deputies stopped a motor vehicle in the N300 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno, for a traffic violation. A passenger, Corey L. Coplien, 39, of Monroe, was taken into custody on a Department of Corrections Probation Violation. Coplien was jailed.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash – OWI:
At 3:17 AM, Deputies responded to the N3800 block of Ladwig Road, Town of Sylvester, for a two-vehicle crash. Eric T. Tessen Jr., age 36, of Albany, was traveling south when he slowed to enter a driveway.  The Tessen vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Brandon S. Varva, age 27, of Monroe. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the collision. Tessen's vehicle sustained moderate rear-end damage, there was no airbag deployment, and it was driven from the scene. Varva's vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage, there was no airbag deployment, and it will be removed by the owner. Varva was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence-1st and cited for Automobile Following Too Closely, Non-Registration of Auto, Possession of 25 grams or less of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Varva was released pending court.
 
Motor Vehicle Crash:
At 12:56 AM, Deputies responded to STH 11/81, just east of the STH 59 interchange, in the Town of Monroe, for a report of a two-vehicle crash. A pickup, operated by Randal C. Wyss, 54, of Monroe, was eastbound on STH 11/81 when a piece of firewood had fallen out of the trailer he was towing. The wood collided with a second pickup that was also eastbound on STH 11/81 and operated by Jarrod A. Mair, 25, of Gratiot. No injuries were reported and all occupants were wearing their seat belts. The Wyss vehicle was not damaged and the Mair vehicle sustained minor front-end damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
