November 05, 2016:  Daily News Release

The following incidents were reported on Friday, November 4th, 2016:

Motor Vehicle Crash:

On Thursday, November 3rd, at 11:07 PM, Dillon M. Varner, 24, of Blanchardville, came to the Green County Sheriff’s Office to report a motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier on November 3rd, in the N1500 block of Bethel Road, Town of Clarno.  Varner advised he was northbound when he swerved to miss a deer, entered the ditch, struck the embankment and a barbed wire fence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heidenreich was cited for No Valid Driver’s License.  Mammosser was cited for Unsafe Passing. They both were released pending court.

 

At 7:00 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the W500 block of STH 81, Town of Spring Grove. Ashley D. Volling, 22, of Burlington, WI, was cited for Operating After Suspension. Volling was released pending court.

 

Motor Vehicle Crash-Car vs. Deer:

 

Justin D. Monson:       N5800 block of Tin Can Road, Town of Albany

Douglas L. Thayer:     N8100 block of STH 69, Town of New Glarus

Thomas K. Schenkel:  N6400 block of CTH N, Town of Washington

Lori I. Manning:         W4300 block of CTH C, Town of Mt. Pleasant

Hans P. McGrath:      W9100 block of STH 11, Town of Cadiz

Traffic Offense:

McKinley was not injured in the crash and was wearing her seat belt.  The air bags did not deploy in her vehicle.  McKinley had moderate damage to her vehicle and she drove it from the scene.

Heidenreich was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt.  The air bags did not deploy in his truck.  The truck had moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

Meyer was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt.  The semi was not equipped with air bags.  There was severe damage to the semi and it was towed from the scene.

Mammosser was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to a local hospital. Mammosser was wearing a seat belt and the air bags deployed in her vehicle. Mammosser's vehicle had severe damage and was towed from the scene.

Shawn D. Heidenreich, 40, of Monroe, was westbound, operating the truck that Mammosser was attempting to pass.  After Mammosser sideswiped the semi, her vehicle then collided with Heidenreich's truck. A fourth vehicle, operated by Ann M. McKinley, 50, of Warren, IL, was eastbound on STH 11 when she struck Mammosser's vehicle as it was sitting in the middle of the road.

Gayle S. Mammosser, 70, of Davis, IL, was westbound on STH 11 when she attempted to pass a truck as she thought she was on a four-lane highway.  An eastbound semi-tractor and trailer, operated by Benjamin G. Meyer, 33, of New Vienna, IA, attempted to avoid the collision by swerving, but was sideswiped by Mammosser's vehicle. Meyer's semi then overturned, coming to rest on the road.

At 5:42 AM, Deputies, along with Monroe PD, Juda Fire, Green County EMS #801 & #802, and WI State Patrol, responded to a four-vehicle crash with injuries in the W3400 block of STH 11, Town of Sylvester.

Motor Vehicle Crash-Personal Injury:

Varner advised that he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. There was no air bag deployment.  Varner reported at first that the crash occurred around 6:00 AM, but then later admitted that it occurred earlier. Varner had moderate damage to his vehicle and he was able to drive it from the scene. Varner was cited for Too Fast for Conditions, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Highway. Varner was released pending court.
