The following incidents were reported on: Sunday, December 04, 2016

MVC – Injury

At 8:02 a.m. Deputies, along with Juda Fire Department, and Monroe EMS responded to the N1800 block of Twin Grove Rd. in the Town of Jefferson for a motor vehicle crash with minor injuries reported.

Kayliegh N. Olson, 18, of Juda, was northbound when she lost control.  The vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane, and into the ditch on the west side of the road.  The vehicle then struck an embankment, and launched in a northwesterly direction, coming to rest approximately 25 to 30 feet away. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and was towed from the scene. There was no airbag deployment.

Olson reported wearing a seatbelt and was injured.  She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

MVC – Property Damage

At 8:33 a.m. Deputies responded to the N8800 block of Badger Road in the Town of York for a vehicle vs bridge crash.  Chris B Theorin, 38, Blanchardville, was northbound when he lost control on the slippery roadway and struck a bridge.  Theorin and his passengers reported being properly restrained in seatbelts, and child safety seat, and were uninjured.  Both front airbags had deployed.

The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and was towed from the scene.

MVC – Property Damage

At 8:45 a.m. Deputies responded to the W8500 block of CTH B in the Town of Cadiz for a motor vehicle vs ditch crash.  Cynthia J. Kurth, 58, Browntown, was traveling west when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve on the ice covered roadway.  Kurth's vehicle slid off the south side of the roadway into the ditch then struck an embankment and went into a field.

Kurth was not injured and reported wearing a seatbelt.  There was no airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene at a later time.

MVC – Injury

At 9:18 a.m. Deputies responded to the N7500 block of STH 104 in the Town of Brooklyn for a crash that was reported by the Green County Hwy Dept.  Sarina Rae Becker 49, Evansville, was southbound when she lost control and entered the ditch on the west side of the road.  The vehicle struck an embankment causing moderate front end damage.  Becker reported wearing her seatbelt and complained of injuries.  She was later transported by private vehicle to a hospital.

The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage was moved onto private property in Rock County. There was no airbag deployment.

MVC – Property Damage

At 10:22 a.m. Deputies and Monroe Police were called to a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of STH 69 and Rolling Acres Ln in the Town of Monroe.  A car, driven by Cynthia A. Thommen, 45, Warren, IL, was stopped northbound to turn west onto Rolling Acres Ln., when a north bound semi-tractor trailer unit slid and struck the rear end of her vehicle.  The driver of the semi was identified as Christopher M. Turner, 24, Sharon, IL.

Neither Thommen, nor Turner, were injured in the accident, and both reported wearing seat belts.  No air bags were deployed in either vehicle. 

Thommen's vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.  The semi tractor-trailer sustained moderate to severe damage and was moved to another location to be removed at a later time.

MVC – Property Damage

At 10:20 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to a mvc in the N2400 block of Allen Rd in the Town of Cadiz.  Jon Charles Baker, 53, Browntown, was northbound when he lost control on the snow covered roadway, left the road, and struck a tree stump.  Baker reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.

The vehicle sustained extensive rear undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene. 

MVC – Property Damage

At 2:26 p.m. Deputies responded to STH 81 at Trotter Rd in the Town of Adams for a one vehicle crash with no reported injuries.

Christine E. Busch, 45, Blanchardville was eastbound on STH 81 negotiating the curve and lost control on the icy and snowy roadway.  The vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane, and then entered the ditch on the north side of the road.  It then struck a guy wire for a power pole, and then a fence, causing moderate front end damage to the vehicle.  Busch reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

Busch was cited for Expired Registration and Mandatory Insurance required.  She was released pending a court appearance.

MVC – Property Damage

At 4:15 p.m. Deputies responded to a vehicle vs tree crash in the N2500 block of CTH S in the Town of Sylvester. Stacy L. Stauffer, 45, Albany, was southbound when the vehicle started to slide on the snow covered road. The vehicle went into the west ditch where it collided with a tree. Stauffer reported wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.

There was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

MVC – Property Damage

At 4:23 p.m. Deputies responded to a vehicle vs embankment crash on Ringhand Rd about 30 feet north of Towns Rd in the Town of Sylvester. Clinton O. Sullivan, 19. Monticello, had just turned onto Ringhand Rd from Towns Rd when the vehicle started to slide on the snow covered road. The vehicle went down an embankment where it struck some trees. Sullivan reported wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. 

There was no airbag deployment. The truck sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene after being pulled out of the ditch.

MVC – Injury

At 6:06 p.m., Deputies, Monroe Police, Green County EMS, and Monroe Fire Department responded to the W5000 block of CTH KK in the Town of Monroe for a report of a single vehicle accident with injuries.  Leopoldo Martinez Osorio, 34, Beloit, was eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the north ditch.  The vehicle then struck, and broke, a power pole. 

Osorio, reported wearing a seatbelt, and was transported by EMS to an area hospital for his injuries.   A passenger in the vehicle, Jennifer Montero Gonzalez, 16, Beloit, reported wearing a seatbelt, and was also transported by EMS to an area hospital for her injuries.

The vehicle also contained the following passengers, who were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries:  Rocio Gonzalez Bonilla, 35, Sheryln Montero Gonzalez, 12, Axel Yahir Montero, 10, and Evelyn Martinez,6, all of Beloit.   Rocio, Sherlyn, and Axel were reported to be wearing their seat belts.  Evelyn was reported to be in a child safety seat.

The vehicle sustained severe front end and severe left side damage.  The front air bags deployed in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Osorio was cited for Operating After Suspension and Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle.  He was released pending a court appearance.

Alliant Energy responded to the scene. 

MVC – Property Damage

At 6:44 a.m. Deputies responded to the W4100 block of CTH C in the Town of Mt Pleasant for a one vehicle accident.  Nicholas C Foley, 16, Janesville, was traveling east, when the vehicle he was operating lost traction on the snow/slush covered roadway and slid into the north ditch.

Foley reported wearing his seatbelt and uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained moderate front passenger side damage.  The vehicle was driven from the scene after being towed from the ditch.
